Ramón Ibarra, by the side of his co-driver Juán Cruz Varela, comes to the penultimate RallyMobil round with a single purpose: to add up points and enter the podium to position himself within the first three places of the R3 Championship Standings.

At the surf capital the championship might be defined for the category at which the Renault Team competes with two aspirated Clios this time, driven by brothers Ramón and Cristóbal Ibarra.

“We have a much more powerful motivation this time than other rallies because the end of the 2018 season is close and we are ten points away from the third standing (with 90 points) , which makes us feel like we can actually get a podium and get among R3’s first three,” Ramón Ibarra assured.

Besides, the experienced driver added: “I think it will be a good race since most of us are betting the championship on it, so everyone will take a lot of risks. Plus the floors fit us quite well, so we expect this to be a great round for our team.”

Cristóbal Ibarra will experience a different round as he is getting in the aspirated Renault Clio again, a car in which he won R3 Light in 2015. “I’m happy to be back in this car, it’s a model that I’m comfortable with. Also, Pichilemu has some amazing roads, they’re lots of fun, fast, technical, and routes that are practically made for rally. We’re at the end of the championship and we’ll deliver our best performance. We hope we can quickly adapt to the car at the Shakedown,” the driver that competes next to Sebastián Vera expressed.
