This Thursday Chilean star driver Francisco “Chaleco” López begins a new adventure at rally Dakar. This time Chaleco will participate in Side by Side, in a four- wheel car..
The new Dakar version will take place in the Peruvian desert from January 6 to 13 and López will practice at the Incan dunes seeking to get into one of the first five positions of the category, which is having 34 comepting crews.
The Chilean will strive against all odds as he faces the Quads winners, such as Russian Sergei Kariakin, 2017 Champion; our compatriot Ignacio Casale, winner in 2014 and 2018; and former biker, Spaniard Gerard Farres; who came in thrid in 2017.
“I’m going to Dakar in hopes that I’ll be among the first five. If there’s a chance for a podium, I’m coming after it. I’m highly motivated and I’m glad to be back in Dakar. To be on sand is like getting back to my habitat, co-driving and on mechanics, like what I experienced during so many years, scoring two podium finishes,” said Chaleco López.
