Esapekka Lappi and Sébastien Ogier had their first days running kilometers in the Citröen C3 WRC, as the 2019 pre-season opens for them as new Citrën Racing drivers. This tests have taken place at the South of Portugal, in the Algarve Region.

Lappi comes from Toyota Gazoo Racing, while the current world champion in coming from M-Sport. Both of them have spent two years in their corresponding old teams. Although for Ogier it’s a comeback to a team he’s already been in before (since his climb up in JWRC until 2011), and he knows the mechanics and engineers, the way the C3 works is different from the Ford Fiesta, just like it’s also different from the Toyota Yaris Lappi used to drive.

To end this 2018, the team, leaded by Pierre Budar, has planned to spend days in the lands of Algarve and finish with a testing on tarmac before Christmass. This one will start the preparation for Rally Monte Carlo. Whether it’s going to be two or three cars for Citröen is still to be confirmed, the third one could be for one of the drivers of 2018, Craig Breen or Mads Ostberg.
