R3 category, like R5, is a family matter and cousins Vicente and Samuel Israel are the members in charge of fighting for the season’s title. Until Pichilemu, the difference within the first three positions was three points between each other: Samuel had 106, Emilio Rosselot 103 and Vicente 100.
After the seventh round, the driver from Viña del Mar lost out on any chance for a shot at the title and those of the Monster Procircuit Rally Team became the only candidates. Emilio Rosselot and Samuel Israel shared the first place throughout the seven rounds, except in Los Ángeles, where the winner was Ramón Ibarra. But Vicente always remained behind them and kept the hope of fighting for the championship alive, while he maintained a strategy that payed off. But talking about speed, we must say Samuel Israel was the fastest in his category, even surpassing some R5 section and and day times.
Since the beginning of the season the Israels showed their hands in R3. Between the adrenaline and their capacity of coming from behind during hard moments is their current situation, 12 days away from the Motorshow. This shall be the round when the definition will be set, whether Samuel or Vicente does better, even though it’s “Chamuco” who has the upper hand, and reaching the highest peak depends on him, after he’s had an almost perfect year.
See you at the Motorshow!
