Ramón Ibarra, Renault Team driver, comes to Río Bueno – La Unión Trophy with the mission of adding up as much points as he can, to fight for the top of the championship, or, at laeast, stay within the first three positions of R3. He currently has 78 points, two less than Samuel Israel (80 points), of the Monster Procircuit Rally Team, and is above Vicente Israel (77 points) – driver of that same squad – by only one unit. The category is leaded by Emilio Rosselot with 95 points.

We talked to Ramón to know how he will deal with the sixth round of RallyMobil Championship. He seemed calm thanks to the confidence he feels towards his team and to the work they have done together with his brother Cristóbal during the weeks prior to this new challenge.

The roads remain unknown for all of the duos, and, about this, Ramón guaranteed that “a good pace notes reading will be essential for the development of the race.” Moreover, “my category is very competitive right now, so this will be a very important round to start setting the podium. There are five or six drivers who are in the battle,” the car 22 driver stated.

The experienced Ramón Ibarra had words to say on the recent news about Chile’s incorporation to the official WRC calendar too: “Chile deserves it, RallyMobil’s organization has fulfilled every challenge and has done a good job. It’s a dream for us to run a world championship round, I hope my brother and I can do it or at least be there in Concepción.”

The sixth round of our 2018 calendar starts on Friday 19 and finishes on Sunday 21, October, in Río Bueno and La Unión. The drivers are ready for action and to celebrate the arrival of WRC in Chile, doing what moves them the most, to make their cars roar and let us feel the adrenaline speed brings.
