To close the season at the best possible place. This is Francisco “Chaleco” López’s (Peugeot 208) rule to race the last RallyMobil Cahmpionship round, to take place in the 2.6 kilometer track in Carén Lagoon, in Santiago’s area of Pudahuel, this Friday, December 14 and 15.

The representative of the Peugeot Sport Chile/Copec Cooper Tires driver is tied on the sixth place with 53 points with CBTech Rally by Skoda Team Cristóbal Vidaurre. On the fifth place is Benjamín Israel with 60 points in a race where the maximum points to gain is 10. The leader in R5 is Pedro Heller with 124 points.

“Mi co-driver Nicolás Levalle and I will do all we can to reach the fifth position in the cahmpionship standings, but it looks pretty tough. Nevertheless, we’ll fight to achieve a standing on the final podium of a season that leaves us hapy with our performance, with a second place in Curicó and a couple of special stages won,” Chaleco López, R5 driver, said.

The round that closes the year starts this Friday 14 with a limited-time practice on the race track, between 2:00 and 3:00 PM. From 4:00 PM on, the pairing-up for classifications will be run, which start on Saturday 15 at 9:00 AM. That day querter-finals and semifinals begin at 3:00 PM. Finals will be raced between 7:00 and 9:00 PM.

“It’s going to be a nice Motorshow, on a track I’m not comfortable with, but I shall try hard to deliver the best possible performance. The perfect thing for me is a normal rally floor, compact, gravel and stones, but you’ve got to get used to anything in this kind of sport,”  the driver from El Maule Region pointed out; he’s preparing his Dakar 2019 participation in Peru, set for January 6.

Carén’s race track is 2,600 meters long and has a crossing over on a spot with a tunnel and a bridge, and only one starting and finish line point for two cars racing at the same time. The general scheme consists of two cars starting simultaneously, being their finish line the same spot on which they stood at the start
